About

Ms. Isatou Sam is the Executive Director of the Female Lawyers Association – Gambia (FLAG) and a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of The Gambia.

Passionate women’s rights advocate. Volunteer significantly, on advocacy for litigating and promoting the rights of women and children.

A significant part of Ms. Isatou Sam’s career has been spent in working for advocacy on the elimination of gender based violence, raising awareness on laws that concern women and children and measures put in place in seeking redress.

Ms. Isatou Sam oversees the Legal Aid Clinic of the Female Lawyers Association – Gambia (FLAG), she represents Clients in court and offers legal advice.

Over 7 years of working experience in the legal sector. Major assignments include:
 Intern at the Judiciary of the Gambia in 2015.
 Legal Assistant at Lex Fori Law Chambers from 2015 to 2019.
 Executive Director of the Female Lawyers Association – Gambia

Formal qualifications include, LLB (Hons) University of The Gambia; Barrister at Law a (Gambia Law School). Also benefitted from several training programmes, including, training programmes on, Reporting on Treaty Bodies, Sexual, Gender and Development; and Sharia Personal Law.
